There are dresses and then there re dresses. This is one of the very special ones. Designed as a classic Mexican-inspired peasant dress, this has a ruffled, elasticized neckline with front vent and drawstring; you can wear it on your shoulders to create a scoop neck or, if the occasion warrants it, wear it off-shoulder and watch the little beads of sweat build up on his brow, ruffled long sleeves. The waist is defined by a broad swath of elasticized smocking followed by three gloriously full and gathered tiers of fabric for the skirt, with fancy trim detail between each layer. Done up in a crinkle rayon that has a subtle wrinkle-resistant texture, a great drape and flow and a soft feel next to the skin. One of the most ancient art objects ever discovered is the  iconic “Venus of Willendorf,’ a small, 4-inch stone figurine estimated to have been carved around 32,000 BC. She REALLY has curves.
